Elisee is a social worker on staff at Kimbilio. He is magical with children. During his studies in Psychology at the University of Lubumbashi, Elisee was on placement at Kimbilio. Following completion of his degree, he joined the Kimbilio team as an employee. His job includes listening and supporting children in psychological distress; performing tests to help diagnose illnesses and understand more about how a child thinks or feels; and testing relevant to the relationship between the child and their biological family.
On the left, Elisee is pictured serving a meal at our day center. The day center is where children come in off the street for a meal, bathing, medical attention and camaraderie. It is also a critical point of outreach for Kimbilio. Here we meet street children, typically for the first time, and get to know them and their many needs on a personal basis. Elisee's first opportunity to meet the children individually is often at the day center.
Elisee's favorite part of his job is applying his skills in Psychology. He says the job is going well, but there is no shortage of problems to solve. Our gratitude to Elisee and his colleagues is immense.
