Kimbilio found eleven year old Charlotte living on the streets a few weeks ago. She is from the urban Kampemba district of Lubumbashi. Her parents divorced as a result of her biological father's mental health challenges, and her mother remarried. Her stepfather was abusing her and she ran away.
Charlotte has been staying at Kimbilio's Janet Bokwa House while the team has been working to reunite her with her family in a non-abusive environment. This week, it was agreed with Charlotte's biological mother that Charlotte would go live with her maternal uncle. Success!
